Crates are the loot spine of Crash Bots. Almost every part upgrade begins as a box you funded with Scraps, Gems, or Shards — and high-end drops can arrive as Mythic crates from codes or special shops. Opening without a plan feels exciting for ten seconds and expensive for a week. This guide sets spending rules you can reuse after every code redeem and every trade.

Crate tiers in plain language

Scrap crates are volume tools. They exist to fill slots and create a baseline bot. Gem crates are power spikes with better odds at higher-star parts. Shard crates are premium swings — rare currency for rare outcomes. Mythic crates sit above the normal ladder when a promo or event grants one (for example the fakeCode reward when that string still redeems). Opening rules

1. Claim group rewards and redeem codes before a crate session so you know your true balance.
2. Open Scrap crates until the bot is complete — no empty sockets.
3. Identify the weakest slot using How to Build and the parts tier list.
4. Spend Gems only when a crate can realistically replace that weak slot.
5. Bank Shards until you can open the tier that actually moves the meta for you.
6. Open a Mythic crate only after steps 2–3. A mythic pull on a skeleton bot wastes the spike.

Mythic crates — high value, high timing cost

Mythic crates are not “open immediately” loot. They are timing tools:

• If fakeCode or an event grants a Mythic crate, park it until every slot has a usable part.
• After opening, equip upgrades instantly and test in offline battles.
• Duplicates become Trading fuel — swap the spare instead of deleting it.
• Do not trade the Mythic crate itself to strangers for chat promises.

Why patience wins

A single premium or Mythic pull that upgrades your weapon line can outvalue a dozen random common opens. Panic opening happens when players chase the dopamine of the crate animation instead of the win rate of the garage.

After you open
